World vision Tchad’s bold plan to transform children’s lives by 2030

N’Djamena – World Vision Tchad has unveiled its ambitious 2026-2030 national strategy, marking a significant milestone in the organization’s commitment to transforming the lives of children across the country. During a high-profile press conference held on July 9, 2026, World Vision brought together media representatives, technical and financial partners, and national authorities to introduce this forward-thinking roadmap.

The strategy aims to directly impact 3.29 million children by 2030, with a special focus on reaching 3.09 million of the most vulnerable through comprehensive interventions in health, nutrition, education, child protection, and climate resilience. The launch event took place at the N’Djamena Résidence Hotel, symbolizing a new chapter in the organization’s dedication to Chad’s future generations.

The regional director of World Vision for West Africa, based in Dakar, Carla Dominique Denizard, described the strategy as “bold and pioneering.” She emphasized its foundation on the “Humanitarian-Development-Peace Nexus,” an integrated approach that bridges emergency response with sustainable development and peacebuilding efforts. “Chad’s children deserve nothing less than a life of abundance,” she stated, highlighting the importance of strong partnerships, community engagement, and cultural integration in achieving this vision.

Denizard underscored the critical challenges facing West and Central Africa, including heightened insecurity, multidimensional poverty, climate change impacts, and mass displacement. She noted that World Vision’s strategy aligns with continental and global frameworks such as the African Union’s Agenda 2063, the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 13, and 16), and Chad’s Vision 2030. Key priorities include human capital development, social protection, climate adaptation, literacy enhancement through the Unlock Literacy program, and child protection.

Édouard Ngoy Wangoy, National Director of World Vision Tchad, called the strategy launch a “historic moment” for both the organization and the children of Chad. He revealed that the new roadmap represents a 20% increase in ambition compared to the previous cycle, reaffirming the organization’s commitment to ensuring that every child in Chad not only survives but thrives. “Our goal is clear: to reach 3.29 million children by 2030, with 3.09 million of the most vulnerable among them,” he declared.

Wangoy also highlighted Chad’s persistent challenges, including entrenched poverty, malnutrition, recurrent humanitarian crises, and climate change effects. He cited data showing that nearly 42% of Chad’s population lives below the poverty line, underscoring the urgent need for intensified support to vulnerable populations.

The 2026-2030 strategy prioritizes several key areas: integrated nutrition and health programs with a focus on maternal and child health, educational improvement through the Unlock Literacy initiative to foster early reading skills, comprehensive child protection against all forms of violence, and community resilience-building against climate change impacts.

In concluding the presentation, World Vision Tchad’s leadership issued a collective call to action, urging public authorities, technical and financial partners, civil society organizations, religious and community leaders, and the media to collaborate closely. They emphasized that achieving this strategy requires unified efforts to turn current challenges into sustainable opportunities for Chad’s children. Through this ambitious plan, World Vision Tchad aims to contribute significantly to the realization of Chad’s Vision 2030 and the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals, envisioning a nation where every child is protected, nourished, educated, and empowered to reach their full potential.
