Côte d’Ivoire: Alassane Ouattara celebrates record-breaking $47 billion investment

President Alassane Ouattara expressed his satisfaction with the record-breaking mobilisation of over $47 billion in finance for Côte d’Ivoire, a testament to the international community’s confidence in the country’s solid foundations and credible development strategy.

The milestone was achieved at the end of the Groupe Consultatif for the financing of the PND 2026-2030 held on July 8-9, 2026, with over 2,000 investors from 49 countries attending in Abidjan.

These investors included representatives from financial institutions, investment funds, banks, business organisations and public-private enterprises, as well as development partners, all of whom were represented at the highest level.

The total amount of commitments made during the two-day session exceeds initial targets by over 300%, reaching $47.82 billion in CFA francs, equivalent to around four times the initially sought-after figure of $11.14 billion.

At its core, the PND 2026-2030 aims to build a ‘Great Nation’ that is stable, ambitious and socially solidaristic. With a global investment volume of $209 billion over five years, it is projected to reach 70.2% of its total goal through private sector engagement, driving Côte d’Ivoire’s economic transformation and social development.

Key sectors benefiting from this initiative include agriculture, industry, infrastructure, human capital, and governance reform.

Prioritising peace, security and stability, the PND 2026-2030 also seeks to boost agricultural productivity, industrialise Côte d’Ivoire’s economy, enhance private sector development, promote human resource growth, improve critical infrastructure, and foster good governance.

On a macroeconomic level, the ambitious targets entail mobilising all of Côte d’Ivoire for rapid economic growth, with the aim of reaching upper-middle-income nation status by 2030, boasting a GDP per capita of $4,500 and below 20% poverty rates.

In conclusion, President Ouattara sees his responsibility as transforming this trust into tangible achievements through expanded access to education, healthcare, transportation, employment opportunities and shared prosperity for all Ivoirians.

Together with confidence, determination and unity, we will continue building a prosperous and solidaristic Côte d’Ivoire.
