Dr. Abdourahmane Diouf claims Ousmane Sonko sought additional political funds

Abdourahmane Diouf has brought to light an assertion that Ousmane Sonko allegedly sought an increase in his political funds after depleting his initial allocation. This revelation introduces a critical element of uncertainty regarding the source of such sensitive information, which holds significant implications for the Senegalese political landscape.
The ongoing verbal sparring between Pastef and Kiiraay shows no signs of abating. With no clear resolution in sight, both factions continue to exchange accusations and disclose perceived truths about the other.
In the latest development, Abdourahmane Diouf, currently serving as the Minister of Petroleum and Energy, appeared on an RS1 broadcast hosted by Migui Marième Ndiaye. During the program, Dr. Diouf addressed the matter of the 1.77 billion CFA francs in secret funds that Ousmane Sonko managed during his tenure at the Primature. However, Dr. Diouf’s statements extended beyond merely acknowledging these funds.
He explicitly stated that Ousmane Sonko, having exhausted the allocated sum for his political activities, reportedly requested additional funding. A key question remains unanswered: whether this request was ultimately approved. More importantly, the origin of this highly confidential information — assuming its veracity — is a subject of intense speculation, as only two individuals would theoretically possess such knowledge: the President of the Republic and the Minister of Budget.
