DRC politics: AB coalition backs Tshisekedi on referendum law and dialogue
On Sunday, July 26, 2026, Jean-Michel Sama Lukonde, President of the Senate and moral authority of the political coalition Agissons et bâtissons (AB), convened a high-level meeting at the Golden Tulip Hotel in Bandal. The gathering brought together members of the Presidium, National Assembly deputies, senators, party secretaries-general, and executive secretaries from the coalition.
This long-awaited exchange, held as parliamentarians wrapped up an extraordinary session and prepared for their recess, focused on two critical priorities: assessing the coalition’s progress and addressing pressing national issues, including the referendum law and ongoing dialogue efforts.
Following spirited discussions, the AB coalition reached consensus on two fronts: strengthening cohesion among elected officials, the Presidium, and government members, and formally endorsing President Félix Antoine Tshisekedi’s initiatives to advance the referendum law and national dialogue.
