Ivorian prime minister opens investor-focused session of national development plan group

Abidjan, July 2026 — The second day of the National Development Plan (PND) 2026-2030 Consultative Group, dedicated to investors, kicked off in grand fashion at the Sofitel Hôtel Ivoire in Abidjan. The session was led by Prime Minister Robert Beugré Mambé, who addressed a room packed with entrepreneurs, investors, and private sector representatives.

« Today marks another milestone in our consultative process, focusing on investment, entrepreneurship, and value creation, » Mambé stated. « Our goal is clear: mobilize the private sector to drive this ambitious development vision forward. I’m delighted to see over 700 investors from allied nations joining us for this critical dialogue. »

The Prime Minister emphasized the significance of this gathering as a platform for fostering collaboration between the government and private sector leaders. « Your presence here reflects the trust you place in Côte d’Ivoire’s economic potential, » he noted. « You are key partners in transforming our economy into a more competitive, job-creating powerhouse. Our success hinges on your willingness to invest in this vision. »

Mambé reassured attendees that the government is prioritizing the private sector as the driving force behind Côte d’Ivoire’s economic transformation. Highlighting the country’s resilience amid global shifts, he pointed to an average growth rate of 6.5% over recent years, positioning Côte d’Ivoire among Africa’s most dynamic economies.

« This is a market brimming with opportunity, » he declared. « Today’s discussions will fast-track investments in key sectors outlined in the PND 2026-2030, including industrialization and local processing of raw materials to boost added value, infrastructure development—especially in transport, digitalization, and logistics—to enhance competitiveness, and investments in human capital, innovation, and essential services for a more productive and inclusive economy. »

He also recapped the first day of the consultative group, which focused on institutional partners and the country’s development strategy. That session drew over 3,000 participants from 49 countries, including Côte d’Ivoire.

Leading the investor delegation, Ahmed Cissé, President of the General Confederation of Enterprises of Côte d’Ivoire (CGECI), along with Mehdi Tazi of Morocco’s General Confederation of Moroccan Enterprises (CGEM) and Mohamed Gouled of the International Finance Corporation (IFC), reaffirmed their commitment to Côte d’Ivoire’s development plan. They pledged substantial financial contributions to support the PND 2026-2030, signaling strong confidence in the nation’s economic trajectory.
