Prime Minister Robert Beugré Mambé champions private sector investment at Côte d’Ivoire’s strategic forum
Abidjan, July 9, 2026 — Côte d’Ivoire’s Prime Minister, Robert Beugré Mambé, led the second day of the National Development Plan (PND) 2026-2030 Consultative Group, dedicated exclusively to investors. The high-profile session unfolded at the Sofitel Hôtel Ivoire, drawing over 700 business leaders and investors from allied nations eager to engage in the country’s economic transformation.
The Prime Minister emphasized that this gathering marks a pivotal moment for forging stronger ties between government and private sector stakeholders. « Today represents a milestone in our collective journey to harness private investment as the driving force behind Côte d’Ivoire’s ambitious development goals, » he stated. « Your presence here underscores the confidence you place in our nation’s economic trajectory and growth potential. »
The event brought together key decision-makers from the private sector, including entrepreneurs and investors who traveled to Abidjan to participate in shaping the nation’s future. Mambé highlighted the forum as a unique platform for dialogue, aimed at aligning public and private visions for sustainable economic progress.
Government commits to private sector-led growth
In a bold policy shift, the government has designated the private sector as the cornerstone of Côte d’Ivoire’s economic transformation. The Prime Minister reassured investors of the country’s economic resilience, citing an impressive average growth rate of 6.5% over recent years and positioning Côte d’Ivoire among Africa’s most dynamic economies despite global volatility.
« This is a market brimming with opportunities, » Mambé declared. « Today’s discussions will fast-track investments in the PND 2026-2030 priority sectors: industrialization and local value addition of raw materials, strategic infrastructure development—particularly in transportation, digital technology, and logistics—to boost competitiveness, alongside investments in human capital, innovation, and essential services that foster a more productive and inclusive economy. »
The first day of the forum, focused on institutional partners and development strategy presentations, attracted over 3,000 participants from 49 countries, including Côte d’Ivoire.
Investor leaders pledge strong financial commitments
Addressing the Prime Minister on behalf of the investor community, Ahmed Cissé, President of the Confédération générale des Entreprises de Côte d’Ivoire (CGECI), joined by representatives from the Mouvement des Entreprises de France (MEDEF) and the Confédération générale des Entreprises du Maroc (CGEM), along with Mohamed Gouled of the International Finance Corporation (IFC), reaffirmed their unwavering support for Côte d’Ivoire’s development vision. « We are fully prepared to contribute substantially through financial commitments aligned with the PND 2026-2030, » they affirmed.
