Ivorian political landscape witnesses a significant shift as Dr. Ahoua Don Mello transitions his grassroots movement into a fully-fledged political party. This bold initiative, announced in Abidjan on July 11, 2026, marks a new chapter in the nation’s democratic evolution, with the movement’s supporters rallying behind a sovereignist and transformative agenda.
The decision, adopted unanimously during a plenary assembly, empowers Dr. Ahoua Don Mello to lead the formal establishment of the party, pending its foundational congress. According to the official communiqué released on July 12, the gathering was presided over by Ipou Ludovic, with Ahile Fernand (Léo Côte d’Ivoire) serving as session secretary and Brou Jean-Baptiste as rapporteur.
Behind this milestone lies months of meticulous preparation led by a reflection commission chaired by Me Sery Zokou. Key figures such as Kouamé Kouakou (OK), cabinet director, Claudel Guiguy, Askène Cissé, Franck Stéphane Dedy, and Arsène Touho contributed to the commission’s findings, which underscored the urgency of formalizing the movement into a structured political force.
The commission’s report, presented by Sery Sara Soko (Deputy Cabinet Director) and supported by Mathieu N’Guatta (Chief of Staff) and collaborators including Sara Dominique and Ami Traoré, laid the groundwork for this historic transition. The document highlighted the need to institutionalize the movement to amplify its voice in national debates and advance its vision for Côte d’Ivoire.
a sovereignist and progressive platform
The new party, set to be officially launched at the upcoming Congress of Pioneers, positions itself as a unifying force advocating for democracy, social justice, good governance, solidarity, and national sovereignty. Dr. Ahoua Don Mello emphasized these principles during the assembly, calling on patriotic, progressive, and democratic forces to unite under this banner to build « a fairer, more prosperous, more united, and fully sovereign Côte d’Ivoire. »
The gathering concluded on a note of brotherhood and hope, with participants reaffirming their commitment to fostering unity and discipline in shaping this political force. The initiative aims to serve not only Côte d’Ivoire but also Africa and a multipolar world order.
