A major clash has erupted in Sénégal as Khady Diène Gaye fiercely refutes assertions made by Abdourahmane Diouf regarding Ousmane Sonko’s purported stance on national debt restructuring. The former Sports Minister, who previously served alongside Diouf in the cabinet, expressed utter astonishment at his claims that the current head of the National Assembly had consented to such a financial strategy.
Launching a scathing critique, the prominent Pastef figure dismissed the minister’s assertions as outright fabrications. She described herself as deeply shocked to learn that Abdourahmane Diouf was attributing a debt restructuring agreement to Ousmane Sonko. In a direct attack, she pointed to what she described as his repeated shortcomings, declaring that his career has been defined by failure and preposterous falsehoods.
Personal attacks and political accusations
Beyond disputing the policy details, Khady Diène Gaye took aim at Abdourahmane Diouf’s professional trajectory. She claimed that the minister had repeatedly stumbled in his attempts to re-establish himself in Sénégal, highlighting a failed attempt to pass the bar exam between 2007 and 2008 as evidence of his past struggles.
Furthermore, the former minister accused Abdourahmane Diouf of pursuing a political career solely for self-interest rather than the collective good of the nation. She argued that his political involvement is driven by personal ambition rather than public service. Despite the heated exchange, Khady Diène Gaye urged Pastef activists to remain united and dedicated to the party’s core vision, calling on all patriots to stay focused on building a sovereign, prosperous, and equitable Sénégal.
