Morocco reiterated its unwavering commitment this Wednesday before the African Union’s Peace and Security Council (AU PSC), emphasizing the critical need to enhance safeguards for children caught in the throes of armed conflicts. The Kingdom underscored the importance of proactive measures to prevent their recruitment, ensure their immediate safety, and facilitate their sustainable reintegration into society.
During an AU PSC session dedicated to the vital topic of “protecting child soldiers in Africa,” the Moroccan delegation highlighted a stark reality: children remain among the most vulnerable victims of the continent’s persistent conflicts. They face severe threats, including forced recruitment, pervasive violence, and interrupted education, all of which irrevocably jeopardize their future prospects.
