The fire ignited shortly after midnight in the market’s resettlement zone. Because of wooden structures and highly flammable materials in the area, the flames quickly jumped to neighboring stalls and sheds, escalating within minutes.
Firefighters were alerted immediately and rushed to the scene, supported by local police and the National Civil Protection Agency (ANPC). Their swift action helped contain the blaze during the night, preventing it from consuming the entire commercial complex.
