Senegal’s path to can 2027 revealed with group j opponents
The national football team of Sénégal now knows its competitors for the upcoming 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers. The reigning champions, known as the Lions, have been drawn into Group J, where they will face Mozambique, Soudan, and Éthiopie. Despite their status as titleholders, the team must maintain a high level of vigilance against these continental rivals, who often prove formidable adversaries.

Following the official draw conducted this Tuesday, Sénégal’s national squad has its complete roster of opponents for the 2027 Coupe d’Afrique des Nations qualification stage. The Lions will compete in Group J alongside Mozambique, Soudan, and Éthiopie, setting the stage for an intriguing series of matches.
As the current African champions, Sénégal enters this qualifying campaign as the clear favorite within a group that appears manageable on paper. However, head coach Pape Thiaw’s squad must not underestimate their rivals. The full qualification schedule spans several international breaks. The initial two matchdays are slated to take place between September 21 and October 6, 2026.
