Niamey, June 4, 2026 — The Military Prytaneum of Niamey (PMN) celebrated its most outstanding students during a formal awards ceremony concluding the 2025-2026 academic year. Under the distinguished patronage of Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces, Major General Salaou Barmou, the event spotlighted the academic achievements of the young cadets who excelled throughout the school year.
The ceremony honored pupils ranked first in every grade from sixth form through to the final year of secondary education. By recognizing these high achievers, school leaders emphasized the importance of merit, perseverance, and discipline—core values embedded in the institution’s rigorous training program.
Notable dignitaries attended the occasion, including members of the National Council for the Safeguarding of the Homeland (CNSP), the Vice-President of the Council for the Refoundation Advisory (CCR), foreign diplomats accredited to Niger, the Governor of Niamey Region, senior officials from the Defense and Security Forces (FDS), alongside parents and other invited guests.

The awards reflect the consistently high academic standards maintained at the Military Prytaneum. The top performers achieved remarkable scores: an average of 18.55 out of 20 in the junior cycle and 17.44 out of 20 in the senior cycle. These results underscore not only the students’ dedication but also the excellence of the teaching staff and institutional leadership.
