A fresh chapter begins for Gabon’s railway transport sector with the official installation of Ludovic Megne Ndong as the new president of the Autorité de Régulation des Transports Ferroviaires (ARTF). The handover ceremony, held in Owendo, marks the transition from his predecessor, François Banga Eboumi.
In his inaugural address, the newly appointed leader outlined his vision for the institution, emphasizing the need to implement the newly established guidelines that redefine the ARTF’s operational framework. His agenda includes strict adherence to the recent ordinance restructuring the authority’s functions.
Strengthening collaboration with labor unions and internal teams is another priority for Megne Ndong. His strategic plan involves optimizing team deployments and resuming oversight activities along the Transgabonais railway corridor, spanning from Owendo to Franceville.
The event was attended by key figures, including François Ndong Obiang, Minister of Reform and Relations with Institutions, and Adrien Moukabi, Executive Secretary of the ARTF. This leadership change coincides with sweeping reforms sweeping through Gabon’s railway industry.
