Mor tallah gueye quits Senegal’s fdcuic in solidarity with sonko

Mor Tallah Gueye, President of the Board of Directors at the FDCUIC, has announced his resignation from the position, citing unwavering support for Ousmane Sonko. In a public statement, he declared, “I resign from my role as PCA of the FDCUIC to stand firmly behind the vision we once fought for.”

Gueye emphasized his commitment to the principles of sovereignty and systemic change, values he believes Ousmane Sonko embodies. “We believed in a Senegal free from systemic oppression and driven by genuine transformation. This project, championed by Pastef, remains our north star,” he stated. His decision comes as he refuses to endorse what he describes as the resurgence of the very system his group has long opposed.

Highlighting the depth of his conviction, Gueye added, “True commitment is measured not by titles, but by the loyalty to ideals that inspire an entire nation.” His resignation marks a significant moment in the growing divide within Pastef’s ranks, where some members are choosing principles over political alignment.

This move follows the earlier departure of a key youth leader in Touba, who relinquished a presidential advisory role to align with Sonko’s cause. These high-profile exits underscore the widening rift between supporters of the current administration and those who remain loyal to the former Prime Minister, reshaping the political landscape in Senegal.
