The 50-year journey of diplomatic relations between Morocco and the Philippines stands as a testament to enduring collaboration, marked by mutual respect and shared ambitions, according to Leslie Baja, the Philippine Ambassador to Morocco. Speaking on the significance of this milestone, he highlighted how these decades have forged a robust foundation for future cooperation.
Reflecting on the milestones achieved, the Ambassador emphasized the frequent high-level exchanges and the numerous agreements signed between the two nations. These interactions have not only strengthened institutional ties but also nurtured deep human connections, which he described as the cornerstone for the next half-century of partnership.
On the economic front, Baja pointed out a substantial growth in bilateral trade over recent years. While he acknowledged that trade volumes have surged by nearly 50%, he also noted that both countries see untapped potential for further expansion. This growth, though promising, remains below the mutual aspirations set by both governments.
