Malian military forces revealed on Thursday that coordinated operations in the northern regions of Anfif and Tabrachat resulted in the elimination of nearly 100 armed fighters. These missions, conducted alongside allied partners, targeted members of the Support Group for Islam and Muslims (JNIM) and the Azawad Liberation Front (FLA).
The army detailed that 13 airstrikes were executed during the Tuesday operations, which also led to the destruction of six armored vehicles and a pickup truck, further disrupting militant logistics in the area.
In a statement, military authorities emphasized the ongoing commitment to sustain military pressure on armed factions across the country. Forces are pledged to continue operations with rigor and determination, in close collaboration with international partners, to dismantle remaining threats.
The Russian Africa Corps also shared updates on the mission through a social media post. Their report highlighted the successful neutralization of militant infrastructure, including the burning of multiple vehicles. Additionally, a drone operated by the Corps reportedly struck a vehicle transporting weapons and other military supplies, intensifying the disruption of enemy operations.
The Russian Africa Corps described the joint efforts as highly effective, reaffirming their intention to persist in targeting militant strongholds and equipment in future engagements.
