Ivorian leader turns new page with heartfelt independence day message

As Côte d’Ivoire celebrated its 66th Independence Day, prominent Ivorian figure Méambly Tié Évariste shared a powerful message with his compatriots, marking both a personal milestone and a new chapter in his lifelong dedication to national service.

In his address, Évariste reflected on his extensive political journey, which spanned a decade as an elected representative of the nation, leadership of the Guémon Regional Council, and presidency of the parliamentary group Agir pour le Peuple. He emphasized that true public service extends beyond political office, encouraging citizens to contribute their skills and commitment wherever needed to advance the nation and continent.

From politics to academia: a journey of continuous growth

Since departing from active politics, Évariste has dedicated himself to academic excellence and professional development. Over nearly seven years, he pursued advanced studies across two continents, earning a Master’s in Organizational Management in Tunisia and a Master’s in Public Policy with a focus on African potential at Sciences Po Paris. Currently, he is completing a PhD in Management Sciences, with his defense scheduled for October 2026.

Alongside his academic pursuits, Évariste has shared his insights through writing. He has published two influential books: Vaincre ou l’art de transformer l’adversité en engagement, exploring resilience and perseverance, and Partenariat public-privé et financement des infrastructures routières en milieu rural, analyzing innovative public-private financing models for rural infrastructure. A third book, set for release in October 2026, will focus on entrepreneurship, real estate, and economic development.

A shift toward entrepreneurship and continental development

With his political career behind him, Évariste is now directing his energy toward entrepreneurship, job creation, and investment in strategic projects that benefit Africa. Having built much of his business foundation outside Côte d’Ivoire since 2012, and currently based in France since 2020, he is expanding his international partnerships to foster growth across the continent.

In his Independence Day message, he announced his decision to step away from partisan affiliations, emphasizing that this move is not a rejection of past collaborations but a new beginning. “This decision is not directed against anyone,” he stated, “but marks a new phase focused on entrepreneurship, knowledge sharing, investment, and development.”

Despite this transition, Évariste reaffirmed his unwavering support for peace, national cohesion, education, innovation, and youth empowerment in Côte d’Ivoire.

A tribute to the West and a call for unity

Addressing the people of the Cavally, Guémon, and Tonkpi regions, he expressed deep gratitude for their lifelong support, calling on all Ivorians to preserve the values of unity, hard work, solidarity, and brotherhood that define the nation’s strength.

Concluding his message, Évariste extended warm wishes for a prosperous future, celebrating Côte d’Ivoire’s journey while looking ahead with hope and determination. “Let us come together in this spirit of Independence Day to forge a nation that is ever more united, prosperous, and forward-looking.”
