The RNDT-Le Réveil party has welcomed the publication, on August 14, 2026, of a presidential clemency decree granting amnesty to several detainees, including political figures. This action follows President Mahamat Idriss Déby Itno’s announcement on August 11 and aligns with the call for easing tensions issued by party leader Pahimi Padacké Albert on August 8.

In an official statement, the party commended the move as a gesture that “upholds public commitments” and serves as a positive sign for advancing political openness in Chad.

RNDT-Le Réveil now urges the head of state to build on this momentum by initiating inclusive dialogues with all national stakeholders. The party reaffirms its readiness to support efforts toward a united Chad, emphasizing that the nation’s diversity of perspectives is a strength to be harnessed.
