Mokhtar Bousso, spokesperson for the collective, addressed the media to emphasize the gravity of Sonko’s comments. « Anyone who questions Serigne Touba must never set foot in Touba, » he declared on national radio. « If he truly respected Serigne Touba and his teachings, such statements about the city would never have been made. »

The collective has called on Sonko to reflect deeply on his words and reconsider his stance. « He must ask himself whether he deserves to return to Touba after the disrespect he has shown, » Bousso concluded. « If he believes illicit money has been laundered there, his place is not in this holy city. »
