The Paris Saint-Germain are gearing up for a high-stakes summer transfer window following their triumph in the UEFA Champions League final. With eyes firmly set on refreshing the squad without overhauling it, the club is poised to secure its first major signing—a move that could see Russian playmaker Aleksey Batrakov land in Paris for a reported €25 million.
Sources close to the deal reveal that the probability of Batrakov’s transfer to the Parc des Princes is now exceptionally high, with negotiations reaching an advanced stage. The 24-year-old attacking midfielder from Lokomotiv Moscow has become the PSG’s primary target as the club looks to inject fresh talent into its ranks while maintaining stability.
Batrakov on the brink of a Parisian move
According to insiders, the likelihood of Batrakov completing a move to the French capital stands at 95%. Over the past few weeks, both clubs have held multiple discussions, with Luis Campos, PSG’s sporting director, scheduled to travel to Moscow next week to finalize the agreement. Only an unforeseen obstacle could derail the deal, which includes a €25 million transfer fee and an annual salary estimated between €5 and €6 million. The transfer is expected to be completed within the next fortnight.
Russian coach backs Batrakov’s PSG dream
Andrey Nagibin, Batrakov’s former youth coach at Lokomotiv Moscow, has spoken positively about his former player’s potential move. “As far as I know, talks with PSG are indeed underway. He has the technical ability to thrive at the highest level. However, many factors must align for him to secure a starting spot. The French league is more competitive than Russia’s…” Nagibin acknowledged in a recent interview. “Take the example of Igor Safonov: he arrived as a backup goalkeeper and seized his opportunity to become a starter. I recently met Alexey and discussed his ambitions. He’s eager to take on this challenge at PSG, and I’ve wished him all the best—hoping everything goes smoothly.”
