Sénégal: le président Diomaye Faye présente son nouveau parti, «Kiiraay: les patriotes républicains»

The new political entity, named «Kiiraay: the Republican Patriots», was officially launched on Saturday, July 25, in the afternoon. Its core mission is to safeguard the Republic of Sénégal, its foundational institutions, and the cherished ancestral values passed down through generations. The party aims to rekindle hope across all segments of the Senegalese population, striving for national renewal. President Bassirou Diomaye Faye emphasized that the nation must transcend all divisions and personal ambitions. He eloquently stated that «one may be an adversary on a given day, but we remain brothers always», underscoring a message of unity.
For an entire afternoon, Bassirou Diomaye Faye assumed the role of a fervent political leader, greeted by thunderous applause from an overflowing crowd of activists and supporters. So numerous were the attendees that many could not fit into the main hall of the King Fahd Palace, instead gathering under a tent erected on the hotel’s forecourt to hear the address from the leader of the «Diomaye Président» coalition.
The Head of State also took the opportunity to subtly critique his political opponents, though without naming them directly. He declared that «from this moment forward, no warmonger will be able to disrupt the tranquility of the Senegalese people or their commitment to serving the Republic more effectively». Several party members interpreted these remarks as being directed towards Ousmane Sonko, his former ally and the current President of the National Assembly.
