The Nigerien government has taken a significant step towards the “Invest in Niger” forum, scheduled for November 24-26, 2026. Officials have formally established the committee tasked with overseeing preparations, entrusting it with the crucial mission of highlighting the nation’s economic potential to both domestic and international investors.
The official countdown has now commenced. In Niamey, authorities have inaugurated the ad hoc committee responsible for organizing the international “Invest in Niger” forum, set to take place from November 24 to 26, 2026. Addressing the newly formed committee members, Mr. Abdoulaye Seydou, the Minister of Commerce and Industry, immediately underscored the profound significance of this gathering for Niger’s economic future.

This pivotal forum is designed to be a prime platform for illuminating investment opportunities across several vital sectors of national development. According to Minister Seydou, Niger possesses immense economic potential, and it is now incumbent upon the authorities to cultivate an environment conducive to reassuring, attracting, and supporting both national and international capital.
“Niger possesses immense economic potential; it is up to the authorities to create the conditions to reassure, attract, and support investments.” – M. Abdoulaye Seydou, Minister of Commerce and Industry
A call for diligence and synergy
The Minister subsequently urged committee members to demonstrate unwavering professionalism, adhere strictly to deadlines, and foster perfect synergy among all involved stakeholders. This directive aims to ensure the success of an event whose aspirations extend beyond national borders. The forum is indeed expected to host several honored guest countries, including Turkey, China, and Russia, alongside special invitees from across the African continent and beyond.

Extensive diplomatic engagement
In addition to the distinguished guest nations, delegations from Burkina Faso and Mali, key partners within the Alliance of Sahel States (AES), will participate, alongside representatives from Togo, Ghana, Chad, Algeria, Tunisia, Libya, India, and Saudi Arabia.
Four sub-commissions for structured oversight
The ad hoc committee brings together experts from various sectoral ministries and professional organizations. It is structured into four distinct sub-commissions, each entrusted with a specific mandate:
-
Scientific
-
Logistics, exhibition, protocol, and security
-
Communication and institutional coordination
-
Funding and partnerships
The comprehensive mission entrusted to this committee is vast: to define the event’s organizational strategy, develop the work program, identify bankable projects for presentation to investors, and ensure the forum’s promotion and visibility on both national and international stages.

Repositioning Niger as a key investment destination
Beyond mere logistical organization, this initiative is deeply embedded within a broader political vision. The authorities of the Refondation are committed to revitalizing the national economy and strategically positioning Niger as a preferred destination for private, regional, and international capital. The “Invest in Niger” forum thus emerges as a crucial diplomatic-economic instrument for achieving this ambition, particularly as several countries in the West Africa Niger region seek to diversify their economic partnerships.
The newly established committee now faces the challenge of transforming this ambitious mandate into an event that meets the government’s high expectations, all within a timeframe of just over four months.
