France’s Ligue 1 disciplinary body handed down strict penalties to FC Nantes, including a closed-door match and partial stadium closure, following supporter unrest during the season’s final fixture against Toulouse.
The French Football League’s disciplinary committee concluded its investigation into the events at Stade de la Beaujoire, confirming the club avoided point deductions but faces significant sanctions. FC Nantes was spared point deductions at the start of their Ligue 2 campaign but must play one home game behind closed doors and will see the Loire stand closed for two additional fixtures.
Additionally, the committee officially validated the match’s score at the time of its definitive interruption against Toulouse on May 17 (0-0). The decision brings finality to the chaotic conclusion of Nantes’ Ligue 1 campaign.

With the season’s final whistle approaching in the 34th and decisive round of Ligue 1, Nantes supporters invaded the pitch, sparking disturbances while protesting their team’s relegation to Ligue 2. The referee halted the game, which had been deadlocked at 0-0.
