In Rabat on Thursday, July 9, Hicham Balaoui, the King’s Prosecutor General at the Court of Cassation and President of the Public Prosecution, hosted a significant working session. His counterpart was Ousmane Abderamane Djougourou, Inspector General of Chad’s Independent Anti-Corruption Authority. This engagement formed part of a broader working visit by the Chadian delegation, specifically aimed at gaining insight into Morocco’s established experience in both preventing and combating corruption.
During the discussions, Hicham Balaoui detailed the core components of Morocco’s robust anti-corruption framework. He particularly emphasized the comprehensive legal and institutional structures that have been established, alongside the criminal policy spearheaded by the Public Prosecution Presidency in this critical area. The dialogue also extended to a comparative analysis of leading practices in the global fight against corruption.
Furthermore, the Chadian representatives were introduced to several innovative initiatives implemented by the Public Prosecution Presidency. These included a dedicated direct telephone hotline designed for reporting instances of corruption and embezzlement. They also explored the advanced digital platform, «e-TABLIGH,» a tool that empowers citizens to confidentially report various suspected corrupt acts. This platform ensures the secure processing of all reports through the application of cutting-edge digital technologies.
