Ivory coast prime minister urges private investment for 2026 development plan

The Prime Minister of Côte d’Ivoire, Robert Beugré Mambé, took center stage at the second day of the National Development Plan (PND) 2026-2030 Consultative Group in Abidjan, assembling over 700 investors to fuel the nation’s economic momentum. The high-profile event, held at the Sofitel Hôtel Ivoire, marked a pivotal moment in aligning private sector ambitions with the country’s developmental trajectory.

Speaking to a room brimming with entrepreneurs, investors, and private sector leaders, Mambé underscored the significance of this gathering as a strategic platform for fostering collaboration between government and business. « This session represents a milestone in our collective journey toward economic transformation, » he stated. « Your presence here is a testament to the trust placed in Côte d’Ivoire’s economic resilience and growth potential. »

The Prime Minister emphasized the government’s commitment to positioning the private sector as the driving force behind Côte d’Ivoire’s economic evolution. With the country boasting an impressive average growth rate of 6.5% over recent years, he highlighted its status as one of Africa’s most dynamic economies. « This is a market on the rise, » Mambé declared, « and your investments will be key to unlocking its full potential. »

Key sectors identified for accelerated investment include industrialization, local raw material processing, infrastructure development (transport, digital, logistics), human capital enhancement, innovation, and essential services. These areas were outlined as critical to enhancing the nation’s competitiveness and inclusivity, ultimately fostering a more robust and diversified economy.

Mambé also reflected on the first day of the Consultative Group, which saw participation from over 3,000 delegates across 49 countries. The event set the stage for the current focus on private investment, with leaders from major business federations—including the Confédération générale des Entreprises de Côte d’Ivoire (CGECI), MEDEF, CGEM Morocco, and the International Finance Corporation (IFC)—expressing unwavering confidence in Côte d’Ivoire’s vision.

« We are fully prepared to commit substantial financial resources to the PND 2026-2030, » affirmed representatives from these organizations, signaling a new era of partnership between public and private stakeholders. As the dialogue continues, the message is clear: Côte d’Ivoire is not just inviting investment—it is creating an ecosystem where businesses can thrive and contribute to shared prosperity.
