In the Anguissa district of Yaoundé’s fourth arrondissement, a 10-year-old girl named Sylvana was found stabbed to death in a brutal overnight attack between Saturday, June 27, and Sunday, June 28, 2026.

A wave of shock and grief swept through the Anguissa neighborhood on Sunday morning as residents learned of the horrific crime. Sylvana, a bright and innocent child, was violently stabbed to death by a 22-year-old woman who later claimed to have acted under the influence of the Holy Spirit. The attack occurred while the girl’s parents were away, leaving her vulnerable.

The young victim suffered multiple stab wounds before succumbing to her injuries. Authorities arrested the suspect on June 28, 2026, at a place of worship. She is now in police custody as investigations continue to uncover the full circumstances surrounding this senseless tragedy.
