« Following the conclusion of Mr. Ousmane Sonko’s term as Prime Minister, I have decided to resign from the Cabinet, in line with my principles, » Dr Thior stated in his message. Despite this decision, he reassured the public of his continued dedication to public service, expressing readiness to contribute wherever his expertise is needed.

Dr Thior also reaffirmed his political allegiance to Ousmane Sonko, who currently serves as both the President of the Pastef party and the President of the National Assembly.
