Politician Ndiaga Seck was taken into custody on Friday, facing allegations of unnatural acts. His arrest follows his implication in another judicial proceeding involving a separate suspect.

This incident quickly acquired a political dimension after comments from journalist Madiambal Diagne, who reportedly drew a connection between the accused and his alleged ties to Prime Minister Ousmane Sonko.

Deputy Cheikh Bara Ndiaye vehemently challenged this interpretation, condemning what he perceives as political conflation. He argued that certain readings of the situation are designed to undermine the standing of specific public figures.

The parliamentarian also commended Prime Minister Ousmane Sonko’s handling of the matter, describing it as exemplary. Ndiaye affirmed that Sonko has insisted on allowing justice to proceed without any interference.

Currently held in police custody, Ndiaga Seck is scheduled to appear before the investigating judge in Linguère this Monday for further legal proceedings.
