After considerable speculation, Cremaschi is now set to permanently reside in Italy. The Serie A outfit activated the €4 million clause to convert his loan, originally slated to run until September 2025, into a full transfer. The American midfielder, a product of the Inter Miami academy, earned the Young American Player of the Year award last season and boasts three caps for his national team.

Despite joining the Herons, Cremaschi found limited opportunities to showcase his full potential in a Parma jersey. Recruited shortly after the arrival of Argentinian international Rodrigo De Paul, the American struggled to regain his optimal physical condition and form. He made his debut in October but subsequently played only sporadically before suffering a season-ending knee injury in March.

Cremaschi, a natural central midfielder, appeared unlikely to rejoin the Herons’ squad after openly criticizing coach Javier Mascherano’s tactical decisions. Utilized in various positions, his playing time significantly diminished, fueling his discontent.

“I’m frustrated, I want to play,” Cremaschi stated last August. “The most important thing for me is to perform at a very high level, and to achieve that, I need playing time and experience. I’ve played very little in recent matches, and I don’t believe it’s due to my performance level.”

Soon after, the Miami club arranged his loan to provide him with the playing opportunities he sought.

Cremaschi’s permanent exit is expected to significantly benefit the Herons in their transfer aspirations. The club is reportedly interested in former Manchester United midfielder Casemiro, who is currently a free agent. With one less midfielder and an additional roster spot now available, Inter Miami appears poised to secure another high-profile recruit.
