The Ministry of Transport, Civil Aviation and National Meteorology, in collaboration with port stakeholders, is hosting the 5th edition of the tripartite forum between the Central African Republic (CAR), Chad and Cameroon. This event focuses on streamlining goods transit through Cameroonian ports. The opening ceremony took place on Monday, May 11, 2026, in N’Djamena, chaired by the Minister of Transport and Civil Aviation, Fatima Goukouni Weddeye.
Running from May 11 to 13, 2026, this forum serves as a strategic platform for dialogue aimed at deepening economic cooperation among Chad, CAR and Cameroon.
strengthening economic ties through shared infrastructure
During the event, Cameroon’s Minister of Transport, Jean Ernest Masséna Ngallé Bibéhè, commended the high-level commitment of the three nations. He emphasized that Cameroon’s port infrastructure is not only vital for its own economy but also critical for landlocked neighbors like Chad and CAR, highlighting the deep-rooted geographical and historical solidarity among these countries.
The minister expressed optimism about the forum’s outcomes, stating, « The momentum driven by our three countries is promising and will intensify. » He also addressed a recent incident involving a Cameroonian driver detained in Chad, calling for a fraternal resolution.

In her keynote address, Fatima Goukouni Weddeye underscored the forum’s strategic importance for landlocked nations. She noted, « For Chad and CAR, which rely entirely on Cameroonian ports, the efficiency of the Douala and Kribi corridors directly impacts market supply, logistics costs and the overall competitiveness of our economies. »

Over three days, delegates from public and private sectors will engage in discussions, sharing insights and proposing actionable strategies to enhance transit fluidity, cut logistics expenses and foster regional economic integration.
