Bilal El Khannouss has officially cemented his future with VfB Stuttgart. Following a highly successful loan period from Leicester City, the 22-year-old Moroccan attacking midfielder has committed to a long-term contract with the Bundesliga club, making his stay permanent.
During his inaugural season in Germany’s top flight, the international talent made a significant impact, featuring in 41 matches across all competitions. His impressive contributions included nine goals and seven assists. These outstanding performances were instrumental in securing his place within the Moroccan national squad for the highly anticipated 2026 FIFA World Cup, where the Atlas Lions are set to kick off their campaign against Brazil on June 14.
El Khannouss’s journey through football academies began at Anderlecht, before he truly made his mark at Genk. He then had a stint with Leicester prior to his impactful arrival in Stuttgart. His burgeoning trophy cabinet already boasts a prestigious Africa Cup of Nations title with Morocco, a continental U23 championship, and an Olympic bronze medal. He stands out as one of African football’s most promising young talents.
