Football transfer expert Ben Jacobs indicates that Andy Robertson is set to continue his career in England next season. The experienced left-back has reportedly reached a personal agreement with Tottenham Hotspur some time ago, paving the way for a highly anticipated move.
Robertson’s departure from Anfield had been widely anticipated for several weeks. The 32-year-old defender, whose contract with Liverpool was nearing its conclusion, received an emotional send-off from the home crowd during the final Premier League fixture of the season.
This marks the end of a remarkable nine-year tenure at Liverpool, where he established himself as a cornerstone of the team and one of the most impactful defenders in the club’s recent history.
Having joined the Reds from Hull City in the summer of 2017 for approximately nine million euros, Robertson proved to be an astute acquisition. He went on to feature in 378 official matches for Liverpool, consistently delivering performances that validated the club’s investment.
According to transfer specialist Ben Jacobs, an understanding between both parties was reportedly established weeks prior, even amidst the sporting uncertainties surrounding the Spurs at the time.
Tottenham ultimately secured their Premier League status on the season’s final day, clinching a crucial 1-0 victory over Everton and thereby finishing above West Ham in the standings.
The Scottish international arrives in North London boasting an impressive career record at both club and national levels. With 92 caps for Scotland to date, he is also expected to play a significant role in the 2026 World Cup, co-hosted by the United States, Canada, and Mexico.
