Ousmane Sonko and PASTEF inaugurate departmental headquarters in Linguère, Jolof

PASTEF-Les Patriotes has successfully concluded an extensive 48-hour political tour across the Jolof region. Traversing all 19 communes within the Linguère department — from Dahra to Barkédji, including Sagatta and Yang-Yang — the party delegations were led on the ground by party leader Ousmane Sonko, accompanied by Minister of State Habib Sy, alongside numerous national executives and coalition allies.

This immersion into the heart of Jolof served as a clear demonstration of the party’s strength and deep local roots. The itinerary featured courtesy visits and constructive dialogues with the area’s religious and traditional authorities, complemented by strategic working sessions with grassroots party structures, including youth, women, and various cadres.

Territorial networking and the opening of departmental headquarters

Following this significant mobilization, the party’s local bodies officially unveiled their strategic roadmap for the upcoming period. A pivotal moment of this extensive journey was the inauguration of PASTEF’s departmental permanent office, which formally launched the campaign for distributing membership cards. The stated objective is to reinforce territorial networking through intensive, community-focused engagement across the department’s villages and neighborhoods.

A call for unity

In the wake of this internal restructuring, local political leaders issued a solemn appeal for unity. This call for gathering extends not only to long-standing militants and sympathizers but also broadly invites political actors from other formations who are keen to join the territorial development project championed by the party.
