Mali military strikes target armed groups in northern regions

Mali’s armed forces have reported neutralizing nearly a hundred armed fighters in coordinated military operations across the northern regions of Anfif and Tabrachat. The operations, conducted with allied partners, included 13 airstrikes that also resulted in the destruction of six combat vehicles and a pickup truck.

Targeted armed factions

The Malian military confirmed that the strikes focused on militants from the Group for the Support of Islam and Muslims (JNIM) and the Azawad Liberation Front (FLA), emphasizing their commitment to maintaining pressure on armed groups operating in the area.

According to a statement released by the African Corps, the offensive successfully destroyed and set ablaze a significant number of militant vehicles. Additionally, a drone operated by the corps targeted another vehicle carrying ammunition and military equipment, further disrupting the groups’ logistical capabilities.

Continued joint efforts

The Russian Africa Corps highlighted the effectiveness of the joint operations alongside Mali’s armed forces, describing them as highly productive. They reiterated their intention to persist in striking militant positions and equipment to weaken their operational capacity in the region.
