Gabon’s President Oligui Nguema joins Côte d’Ivoire’s independence celebrations

The President of Gabon, Brice Clotaire Oligui Nguema, arrived in Abidjan on Tuesday, August 4, 2026, to participate in the 66th anniversary festivities of Côte d’Ivoire’s independence. His presence underscores the strong cooperative and fraternal ties between Gabon and Côte d’Ivoire.

The Gabonese leader was warmly received at the Félix Houphouët-Boigny International Airport by Côte d’Ivoire’s Minister of State for Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Nialé Kaba, who represented the Ivorian authorities.
