Frank Onyeka joins Coventry City on permanent deal from Brentford

The Nigerian midfielder, Frank Onyeka, has officially made the move to Coventry City from Brentford in a permanent transfer ahead of the 2026-2027 Premier League season.

Onyeka, who had joined Coventry on loan earlier this year, has now been signed permanently following the opening of the summer transfer window. His contributions were pivotal in securing the Sky Bet Championship title for the team managed by Frank Lampard. During his loan spell, he made 14 appearances and delivered a standout performance, including a crucial goal against Derby County in April.

The 28-year-old brings valuable Premier League experience to Coventry, having featured in 75 top-flight matches during his time at Brentford. While the length of his new contract remains undisclosed, his arrival strengthens the Sky Blues’ midfield ahead of their top-tier campaign.
