Amid intense speculation surrounding the future of 22-year-old Ivorian winger Yan Diomandé, the transfer saga has reached a critical juncture. The young talent, whose impressive performances have drawn attention from top European clubs, appears to have set his sights on joining Paris Saint-Germain (PSG). However, RB Leipzig, his current employer, has firmly pushed back against this potential move.

The Ivorian international, whose World Cup debut has already showcased his potential, has become a hot commodity in European football. While Liverpool was previously linked with a move for the player, recent reports suggest PSG is now the favored destination. Yet RB Leipzig’s management has responded with resolve, casting doubt on any imminent transfer.
Leipzig’s firm stance on Diomandé’s future
Marcel Schäfer, Sports Director of RB Leipzig, has been unequivocal about the club’s position. In a recent statement, he emphasized: “Our stance is clear: Yan Diomandé will remain a Leipzig player next season. We are not negotiating on this matter. We fully recognize his value, and if he continues his upward trajectory, the time will come for a future move—but not this year. He is under contract for four more years, and we retain control. The current developments simply reflect an acknowledgment of his progress. Nothing more, nothing less. If no solution is found, that’s the way it goes—he still has four years left on his deal. I repeat: Yan Diomandé is a Leipzig player.”
Diomandé keeps focus on the pitch
For his part, Diomandé has remained tight-lipped about his future, redirecting attention to his on-field responsibilities. Speaking to reporters, he stated: “You’re the ones with the updates—I don’t have internet, Instagram, or TikTok. My agent handles club discussions; I don’t have access to that information. I’d rather not discuss it—even with my agent—because the World Cup comes around only once every four years. This is my chance to make history with my country and give it my all. My dream is to represent my nation. I’ve deleted Instagram and TikTok; I can’t see anything. My agent will manage the rest. Right now, my priority is the World Cup and creating something unforgettable.“>
