A rising star shines at the World Cup
At just 18 years old, Ayyoub Bouaddi has become one of the standout performers at this year’s World Cup with Morocco. His performances in the tournament have caught the attention of Europe’s top clubs, with Paris Saint-Germain now in the frame to sign the talented midfielder from Lille OSC.
Why Lille’s teen sensation could leave sooner than expected
Ayyoub Bouaddi has already made his mark at LOSC Lille, but his World Cup heroics have accelerated his rise on the transfer market. Clubs like Real Madrid and Manchester City have already shown strong interest, though PSG emerges as a potential destination. Lille, however, isn’t expected to let him go without a substantial fee—estimates suggest a minimum of €70 million.
PSG’s squad dilemma: Where does Bouaddi fit in?
While Ayyoub Bouaddi has expressed his desire to join Paris Saint-Germain, the club’s current midfield setup complicates things. According to insiders, the teenager would love to wear the PSG shirt, but space in the squad is limited. Fabrice Hawkins, speaking on a football show, noted: « Everyone wants to join PSG these days, including Bouaddi. But the reality is that there’s no room in midfield, and without departures, it’s tough to make space.»
PSG’s cautious approach to Bouaddi’s transfer
Despite his obvious appeal, Ayyoub Bouaddi may not fit into PSG‘s long-term plans. Club insiders suggest that while Bouaddi interests the management, the current squad structure under Luis Enrique and sporting director Luis Campos prioritizes players who align better with their tactical vision. « Bouaddi is not a player PSG isn’t interested in, but in the current group architecture they envision, he isn’t an immediate fit», added Hawkins.
