Cameroon’s Commerce Minister Luc Magloire Mbarga Atangana has unveiled plans for a sweeping promotional sales campaign in Yaoundé, targeting essential consumer goods.

Slated to run from June 22 to September 30, 2026, along the Boulevard du 20 Mai, this initiative represents a strategic effort to stabilize prices and enhance affordability for households.

« This campaign, developed in collaboration with socially responsible businesses, directly supports government policies aimed at combating high living costs, » stated the Ministry of Commerce. « The initiative seeks to bolster household purchasing power during the summer holiday period while ensuring affordable school supplies are available for the 2026-2027 academic year. »

Minister Atangana emphasized that while Yaoundé will serve as the primary hub, the campaign will extend nationwide through mobile promotional caravans, reaching both major urban centers and surrounding areas.
