World Vision Tchad : Une Stratégie Ambitieuse pour 2030
World Vision Tchad lance sa stratégie 2026-2030, visant à améliorer les conditions de vie de 3,29 millions d’enfants. L’approche intégrée combine assistance humanitaire, développement durable et consolidation de la paix.
In N’Djamena, World Vision Tchad officially inaugurated its national strategy for 2026-2030 at a press conference recently held at a local hotel residence. The event brought together key media representatives, technical and financial partners, and national authorities. This ambitious new roadmap aims to significantly improve the lives of 3.29 million children across Tchad by 2030, with a particular focus on 3.09 million of the most vulnerable. The organization plans to achieve this through enhanced interventions in critical areas such as health, nutrition, education, child protection, and climate resilience.
Carla Dominique Denizard, World Vision’s Regional Director for West Africa, based in Dakar, described the new strategy as both « audacious and innovative » during her address. She elaborated on its foundation: the « Humanitarian-Development-Peace Nexus » approach. This framework is designed to seamlessly integrate emergency responses with sustainable development initiatives and peacebuilding efforts. Denizard emphasized that the children of Tchad deserve a life of abundance, a vision she believes is attainable through robust partnerships, strong community engagement, and a deep appreciation for cultural and spiritual realities.
Continuing her remarks, Denizard reiterated World Vision’s overarching vision for West and Central Africa: to ensure every child in the most fragile contexts not only survives but also thrives fully. She highlighted the persistent formidable challenges faced by the region, including widespread insecurity, pervasive multidimensional poverty, the detrimental effects of climate change, and large-scale population displacements. In response to this complex situation, the organization has deliberately chosen an integrated strategy that harmonizes humanitarian assistance, sustainable development, and peace consolidation.
According to Denizard, World Vision Tchad’s strategy is meticulously aligned with major continental and international directives. These include the African Union’s Agenda 2063, several Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 13, and 16), and Tchad’s own Vision 2030. The plan also places significant emphasis on strengthening human capital, bolstering social protection systems, adapting to climate change impacts, enhancing educational outcomes through the innovative Unlock Literacy program, and rigorously protecting children.
Édouard Ngoy Wangoy, the National Director of World Vision Tchad, characterized the strategy’s launch as a « historic moment » for both the organization and the future of Tchad’s children. He noted that this new strategic cycle reflects a 20% increase in the organization’s ambitions compared to its previous plan. « Our ambition is straightforward yet bold: to reach 3.29 million children by 2030, including 3.09 million of the most vulnerable, » he affirmed. « We aspire for every child in Tchad to not only survive but also to flourish completely. »
The National Director also underscored the numerous challenges that continue to confront Tchad, notably persistent poverty, widespread malnutrition, recurrent humanitarian crises, and the severe repercussions of climate change. Data presented by World Vision indicates that nearly 42% of the Tchadien population lives below the poverty line, reinforcing the urgent need for intensified actions to support the most vulnerable communities.
He further detailed that the 2026-2030 strategy is structured around several key priority areas. These include strengthening integrated nutrition and health services, with a specific focus on maternal and child health; improving education quality through the Unlock Literacy program, designed to foster reading skills from early schooling years; protecting children from all forms of violence; and enhancing community resilience against the adverse effects of climate change.
Following the comprehensive presentation, World Vision Tchad’s leadership issued a collective appeal to all national stakeholders. They urged public authorities, technical and financial partners, civil society organizations, religious and community leaders, and the media to combine their efforts to ensure the successful implementation of this vital strategy. The organization firmly believes that collective mobilization is indispensable to transform current challenges into enduring opportunities for Tchad’s children. Through its 2026-2030 strategy, World Vision is committed to actively contributing to the realization of Tchad’s Vision 2030 and the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals, ultimately building a nation where every child is protected, well-nourished, educated, and fully empowered to thrive.
