The public spat between the Pastef party and the Kiiraay movement shows no signs of slowing down. Without a neutral referee to call an end to the exchanges, both sides continue to trade blows, each presenting what they claim—or believe—to be factual revelations about the other.
In the latest development, Dr. Abdourahmane Diouf, appearing on an RS1 program hosted by Migui Marième Ndiaye, addressed the controversial issue of the 1.77 billion West African CFA francs in secret funds Ousmane Sonko reportedly held during his time as Prime Minister. But Diouf’s statements went further, suggesting Sonko sought additional funding once his initial allocation was exhausted. The critical question remains unanswered: was this request ever approved? Even more puzzling is the question of how such sensitive information came to light—assuming it is accurate—since only two individuals, the President of the Republic and the Minister of Budget, would typically have access to such data.
