PSG set to secure 120M€ deal for 2026 World Cup star Yan Diomandé
The Paris Saint-Germain are gearing up for a summer of high-stakes transfers as they look to bolster their squad. At the center of their attention is Yan Diomandé, the 19-year-old winger who has emerged as a standout performer for both RB Leipzig and the Ivory Coast national team during the early stages of the 2026 World Cup qualifiers.
With the Ligue 1 champions having already claimed multiple domestic titles, the focus now shifts to enhancing their squad for the upcoming challenges. Diomandé’s electrifying pace, technical skill, and potential have made him a prime target, particularly as Paris Saint-Germain aim to replace outgoing talents like Bradley Barcola.
Luis Enrique takes charge of Diomandé pursuit
Luis Enrique, the club’s first-team manager, has personally stepped into the recruitment process to secure Diomandé. The Spanish tactician sees the young Ivorian as the ideal fit to strengthen his starting lineup, especially given the uncertainty surrounding Barcola’s future. However, securing Diomandé won’t be straightforward—the 120 million euro price tag demanded by RB Leipzig has turned the transfer into a fierce contest, with Liverpool also vying for the same player.
A transfer saga that captivates the Ivory Coast
The drama surrounding Diomandé’s future has even spilled into the Ivory Coast national team camp. Following his impressive display in their recent 1-0 victory over Equatorial Guinea, Ivory Coast head coach Emerse Faé addressed the speculation in a press conference. « Earlier in France, journalists were saying he would sign for PSG. Now, upon arriving in the United States, I’m told he’s going to Liverpool. We’ll see. Right now, he’s fully focused on the World Cup, and after that, he’ll make the best decision for his career, » he remarked.
