Lions club governor begins Côte d’Ivoire tour, pledges pnd support

The newly appointed Governor of Lions Club International District 403-A2, Mr. Jean Pierre HILLAH, initiated his official regional tour across the four nations within his district, commencing with a significant visit to Côte d’Ivoire. On Monday, August 31, 2026, he was formally welcomed by Dr. Souleymane DIARRASSOUBA, the Minister of Planning and Development, at his ministerial office.

District 403-A2 encompasses Côte d’Ivoire, Togo, Liberia, and Sierra Leone, with five distinct regions located within Ivorian territory. Lions Club International primarily directs its efforts towards enhancing youth capabilities and championing environmental protection initiatives across these nations.

The esteemed organization has unequivocally affirmed its dedication to actively support the implementation of Côte d’Ivoire’s ambitious National Development Plan (PND) 2026-2030.

The Minister of Planning and Development underscored the timely nature of this visit, highlighting that Côte d’Ivoire had recently embarked upon a new cycle of its crucial national development strategy.

The PND 2026-2030 encapsulates the profound vision of His Excellency President Alassane Ouattara, aiming to elevate Côte d’Ivoire to the esteemed status of an upper-middle-income country by the year 2030.

Furthermore, the Minister emphasized the robust mobilization of partners coalescing around the PND 2026-2030. He reiterated that the government’s strategic actions are meticulously aligned with the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and the comprehensive Agenda 2063 of the African Union.
