The Malian Ministry of Security and Civil Protection has taken a significant step to enhance the operational capabilities of its Security Forces, formally handing over twenty new vehicles and specialized equipment. This substantial acquisition was entirely funded through the national budget, underscoring Mali’s commitment to self-reliance in defense. The official ceremony, held on Friday, July 31, 2026, was presided over by Major General Daoud Aly Mohammedine. The diverse fleet includes six 60-seat buses, a crucial breakdown recovery vehicle, two 20,000-liter Spiros trucks, eight 4,000-liter fire tanker trucks, and three formidable 50,000-liter pump-tanker trucks. These vital assets have been strategically allocated across key national security entities: the National Police, the Civil Protection agency, the National Gendarmerie, the National Guard, and the Staff College of Security Forces, bolstering Mali security logistics.

Major General Mohammedine emphasized that these procurements directly reflect the unwavering resolve of the Transition’s President, General of the Army Assimi, to significantly strengthen the operational capacities of Mali’s Armed and Security Forces. This strategic enhancement aims to cultivate a secure environment that aligns with the profound aspirations of all Malian citizens. He further highlighted the critical role of robust and modern logistics in improving the mobility and responsiveness of security personnel, enabling them to effectively counter evolving threats across the nation.

Brigadier General Boucary Kodio, Director General of Civil Protection, affirmed the beneficiaries’ collective commitment to managing these new assets with the utmost diligence and exemplary stewardship. The event concluded dramatically with a live demonstration of the fire tanker trucks, showcasing their impressive efficiency and readiness for emergency situations, a clear signal of improved Mali security preparedness.
