Kétou enforces uniform policy for taxi-moto drivers to boost safety

Starting soon, all taxi-moto drivers in Kétou must wear uniforms while on duty. The local municipality has launched an enrollment drive to implement this new rule, which aims to enhance road safety, improve driver identification, and streamline urban transportation.

How the enrollment process works

The initiative will cover all six districts of Kétou and requires drivers to register at designated administrative offices. The enrollment window runs from July 6 to July 20, 2026. Drivers must present valid identification to complete the process, which is required before receiving their official uniform.

Once registration is complete, only drivers wearing the approved uniform will be permitted to operate. Those who fail to comply with this requirement will face penalties as outlined in local regulations.

Community support encouraged

Local officials urge passengers to use only registered drivers wearing the official attire. District chiefs, taxi-moto associations, and security services have been tasked with enforcing the new policy to ensure smooth implementation.

The municipality expects this measure to improve transparency, reduce unauthorized transport services, and enhance overall safety in Kétou’s urban mobility.
