On Monday, July 6, the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan issued a strong condemnation of the terror plots thwarted recently in the Kingdom of Morocco. In a firm statement, Amman expressed unwavering solidarity with Rabat, pledging full support for Morocco’s efforts to safeguard its citizens, protect public order, and uphold national stability.
The Jordanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates described the intercepted schemes as highly dangerous attempts designed to destabilize the country and endanger lives and property. Jordanian officials emphasized that such acts undermine regional security and violate the sovereignty of sovereign nations.
Ambassador Fouad Majali, the ministry’s spokesperson, reiterated Jordan’s absolute backing for Morocco’s counter-terrorism measures. He stressed that the two brotherly nations share a common commitment to peace, security, and stability across the region, and warned that no act of extremism would go unchallenged.
The announcement follows Morocco’s official disclosure of advanced terror plots foiled by its Central Bureau of Judicial Investigations. The operations, supported by intelligence from the General Directorate for National Security, led to the arrest of radicalized individuals in multiple Moroccan cities.
Investigators revealed that the suspects had received logistical and operational support from a Daech-affiliated cell operating in the Sahel region. This transnational link underscores the evolving threat posed by extremist networks that exploit fragile zones to plan attacks far beyond their immediate surroundings.
Morocco’s swift and coordinated response highlights its role as a key player in combating terrorism across North Africa and the Sahel. The successful disruption of these plots sends a clear message: security cooperation is essential to prevent extremist violence and protect civilian lives.
