Brilliant Cameroonian Graduate Honored with Prestigious African Academic Award in Paris
The African Student Excellence Award 2026 was presented to Brayan Yebga Miyogog, a distinguished alumnus of the African Institute of Computer Science-Cameroon (IAI-Cameroun), during a high-profile ceremony held in Paris on June 27. The award, organized by the association of the same name, recognized his outstanding academic achievements, resilience, and ethical leadership impact on Africa’s global stage.
Brayan’s triumph at this prestigious event highlights the exceptional quality of training provided by the IAI-Cameroun, managed by Resident Representative Armand Claude Abanda, who also holds the UNESCO Chair for Central Africa Access-TIC. The young software engineer received the Silver Prize, which celebrates the perseverance and academic excellence of African students both on the continent and in the diaspora.
In his acceptance speech, Brayan emphasized that his success stems from the rigorous values instilled during his studies at the Paul Biya Center of Technological Excellence. “On the big day, I will proudly represent IAI-Cameroun,” he stated. “In my speech and discussions, I will highlight where I come from and the exceptional education I received here. It is an honor to stand before this audience as a product of this institution.”
The recognition comes shortly after Brayan’s innovative platform, AgriGuardian, which he co-founded, won the TechforTech Public Prize at the 2026 Petit Poucet competition. As a junior systems architect and cybersecurity specialist based in Montpellier, France, Brayan combines advanced skills in computer science, digital security, and artificial intelligence to drive technological solutions with real-world impact.
