Rabat hosts the Morocco-india economic forum 2026

The highly anticipated Morocco-India Economic Forum 2026 convened this Monday in Rabat, organized through a collaborative effort by the Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Services of Rabat-Salé-Kénitra (CCISRSK), the Embassy of India in the Kingdom, and the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII).

This significant gathering brought together a robust Indian delegation, comprising 21 prominent business leaders from key strategic sectors, alongside various Moroccan economic stakeholders. The primary objective was to explore avenues for forging enduring partnerships and securing mutually beneficial investments between the two nations.

Strengthening bilateral ties

During the event, Hassan Sakhi, President of the CCISRSK, emphasized that the deep-rooted friendship between Morocco and India has blossomed into a robust, diversified, and continuously expanding economic partnership.

In a statement delivered on his behalf, Sakhi highlighted that numerous high-level ministerial initiatives and memoranda of understanding (MOUs) signed across strategic domains underscore the dynamic political relationship shared by Morocco and India.

He further noted that the presence of an Indian business delegation, representing diverse sectors such as automotive, agriculture, information technology, healthcare, and energy, clearly demonstrates the increasing interest Indian players have in the Moroccan market.

The vitality of exchanges between the two countries is particularly evident in the substantial volume of bilateral economic trade. Sakhi stressed Morocco’s firm commitment to enhancing this momentum, recognizing India as a crucial commercial partner possessing extensive technological and industrial expertise.

Morocco’s potential for trilateral cooperation

For his part, Mohan Puri, who led the CII delegation, expressed his belief that both nations possess the capacity to establish a strong trilateral partnership encompassing India, Morocco, and the wider African continent. He specifically lauded the Kingdom’s significant potential and extensive capabilities.

Puri particularly commended the abundant opportunities Morocco presents, especially in areas like renewable energies, green hydrogen, aviation, defense, and digital technologies. He pointed out that the Kingdom serves as an ideal platform for businesses from both countries to implement various projects and advance technological development.

The forum’s proceedings featured the screening of an institutional video, showcasing the economic strengths and investment prospects within the Rabat-Salé-Kénitra region. Additionally, a documentary was presented, detailing Morocco’s business climate and the latest updates to its investment charter.

A key outcome of the forum was the signing of a memorandum of understanding, designed to boost commercial exchanges, investments, and industrial collaborations between India and the Rabat-Salé-Kénitra region.

The event concluded with a dedicated networking session and a series of B2B meetings, facilitating direct interactions between members of both delegations.
