Emmanuelle Blatmann to lead France’s diplomatic mission in Dakar

Emmanuelle Blatmann, a seasoned diplomat with a decade of expertise in African affairs, has been appointed to head France’s embassy in Dakar, Senegal. Effective January 2024, her new role as Director of Africa at the French Ministry of Europe and Foreign Affairs positions her as a key figure in shaping bilateral ties between Paris and Dakar.

At 46 years old, Blatmann brings a fresh perspective to a critical juncture in West Africa, where diplomatic relationships are undergoing significant transformation.
