African Independent News Agency (AIP) Abidjan, July 7, 2026 – PDCI-RDA leader Brédoumy Soumaïla reiterated on Wednesday at a press conference in Abidjan’s Cocody neighborhood that his party would not back down from its demand for an electoral organ to be established through direct political dialogue between key players.
“The PDCI-RDA has formally approached the government to request immediate talks without delay. Our recent history teaches us that lasting peace and social cohesion cannot afford to overlook consultations,” Soumaïla said, citing a need for greater cooperation among political actors.
He regretted that the prime minister had invited political parties to an information session without any exchange, branding this approach as insufficient. The party vowed to reiterate its call for a broader negotiating framework whenever necessary.
The PDCI-RDA also demanded a review of the electoral list before year-end, in line with the country’s electoral code. Soumaïla criticized the government for failing to implement the scheduled revision in 2025, which was funded from the state budget without any official justification.
“The people are calling on PDCI-RDA to save them. This rescue will come through President Cheick Tidjane Thiam, as he seeks to regain state power for progress and happiness for all,” Soumaïla concluded.
